Template letter to councils about wood burning

We were pleased to see Lambeth Council’s strong messaging on the need to reduce wood burning, and Oxford City Council’s new Do You Fuel Good campaign, which aims to educate people on the link between burning wood and air pollution, and sets out the cleaner and safer options that can be used to heat our homes. Councils across the UK have very different approaches to this much-misunderstood contributor to air pollution; we want to see all councils running strong public health campaigns on this issue.

With this in mind, and because people contact us all the time about their frustration with their local council, we have written to all London councils again about the urgent need to inform their residents of the link between air pollution and domestic wood burning.

We have therefore updated our template letter to councils, which you can use to write to your councillors and councils, urging them to do far more to raise awareness. Let us know how you get on.
