Environmental Audit Committee chooses air pollution for its next inquiry

8th January 2026

The week before Christmas, we were delighted to hear that the Environmental Audit Committee has chosen air pollution for its next inquiry! This was after a pitch to the committee on behalf of the clean air movement, from our founder Jemima Hartshorn and Dr Nat Easton of the University of Southampton.

In the pitch, which had input from many campaigners and organisations, Jemima and Nat highlighted the continued lack of public awareness around air pollution, alongside the Government’s ongoing failure to take meaningful action on this critical issue.

The inquiry will be developed and launched early this year. We’re really grateful for all the hard work from so many on this. You can watch the pitch here (from 15:19:45), and see what the Environmental Audit Committee had to say about it afterwards here.
